GALLANT AVENUE CLOSED ALL DAY DEC 3rd FOR PAVING

The DCCA has received an email from Erin Moxon, DNV:

This Friday, December 3, due to anticipated favourable weather conditions, we are proceeding with paving work on upper Gallant Avenue. This will require a one-day full road closure of upper Gallant Avenue, between 7am and 8pm.

As a result of this paving work and road closure, vehicle traffic will be routed out of Deep Cove Village via the following detour: Naughton Avenue, Rockcliff Road, Raeburn Street, Banbury Road, Cliffmont Road to Deep Cove Road. Please see map below. Traffic flaggers will be posted at key intersections along the detour route to control traffic, assist buses and vehicles, and maintain safety for pedestrians and cyclists exiting the neighbourhood. Access to Caledonia Avenue north of Gallant Avenue will be maintained via single-lane-alternating traffic on Deep Cove Road.

Expect traffic delays throughout Deep Cove on Friday between 7am and 8pm. Please follow directions from flaggers and leave yourself extra time to get to your destination.

We acknowledge the late notice for this closure and detour. Dry weather conditions are critical to paving work, and so we need to take advantage of the few remaining good weather days when forecasted in order to complete this important work.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to complete the construction works on upper Gallant Avenue.
