June: Protect What We Love joint community initiative by Ocean Ambassadors Canada and the DCCA, with a launch party on June 1 at the Deep Cove Yacht Club and a pop-up event on June 4 at the Panorama park stage.
February 25: Deep Cove Heritage Society Lunch and Learn at Public Table at Northlands, Building Communities - East of the Seymour River - Past, Present and Future with guest speakers Liz Bollman, Eric Godot Andersen and Lisa Muri.
February 23: Deep Cove Community Association AGM at Deep Cove Yacht Club featured our guest speakers, Eric Godot Anderson and In-Ah Mellor, who told us how the Blueridge Community Association had actively supported, and been supported by members of their community. The Social afterwards was kindly supported by Stong’s Market.
February: A disoriented 70-year-old hiker was rescued from the frigid waters of Indian Arm by a local resident, Emma Elvi (Vancouver Sun)
2025
January 22: Deep Cove Community Association AGM, Information Update & Social Event at Deep Cove Yacht Club. Updates on recent flooding & fire events. Resources for emergency preparedness and support. Guests: Mayor Little, Lisa Muri and representatives from NSEM and Firesmart.
2024
July: Black bear shot and killed in Deep Cove after biting a woman (North Shore News).
January: Four cougars spotted in Deep Cove. Assumed to be a mother and her kittens, they skulked across a North Vancouver resident's backyard before hopping over her garden fence, as reported by the North Shore News. Please report sightings to the North Shore Black Bear Society.
2023
April: Funding for the Spirit Trail Eastern extension was included in the five-year District of North Vancouver Capital Plan. The project info and updates are here.
2022
September: Liveable Deep Cove (Lower Gallant) Community Engagement Results results have been released by the DNV. Among 629 online surveys respondents, 84% indicated that they were very satisfied or somewhat satisfied that pedestrian accessibility and seating priorities have been incorporated into the design. Spring: the Deep Cove Community Association (DCCA) was rekindled by a group of local caring volunteers aiming at cultivating community connections through local initiatives, celebrations, events, and information sharing.
